1151 posts in 1785 days Location: North Little Rock, AR I am a custom furniture builder who grew up playing in the saw dust. My dad started our waterbed furniture business when I was around 6 years old (1980). My first woodworking experience was making swords and guns to play with. I would make mini waterbeds out of scrap and use a zip lock bag for the mattress. I started working with Dad after school and in the summers when I was 15 (1989). At that time, we were a very small business with maybe one other employee besides my dad and grandfather. I was thrown in, shown a picture, and had to figure out how to build it. This was probably the best thing for me. I learned the most that way. I forgot to mention that my Son used to live in N.Little Rock. He’s in Hot Srings now. He’s in the graphics, & auto trim business. It’ called JIM TRIM Inc. He does business all over the state.
