I have been trying to build my own “vertile” table saw and would appreciate some imput, I have no idea where to start, I would like very much to keep it simple for cash flow reasons, if I could build one from everyday items that could be reused or found inexspensivaly I would appreciate any and all comments…thanks so much

Not quite sure what you mean by “vertical saw”. Are thinking about a bandsaw?

Sounds like a panel saw…or just take a table saw and flip it on its side. What type of use do you plan to get from this type saw?

You need to search the LJ site for vertical panel saw. I think this is what you had in mind.

Thanks for your comments and trying to help me with my question…”I said verticle saw” but yes I did mean a pannel saw, and the reason I need one is that I do not have the space I used to have before I lost my home. and now I either put off my love of woodworking or I try to adapt to this situation, so I have built a work shed 10’x20’ it is all I could afford at this time…but I cannot use my table saw if I needed to cut a full piece of pannel board so I thought I would make a “verticle saw and place it against one of the walls, thats where I am at , do you have any sugestioins on this, thanks

I want to thank all of you that commented on my desire to faburcate a “Panel Saw” your comments and sugestions were greatly appreciated….but this saw is very allusive…I know in my head what I want, so I guess I will have to just dig in and build it the way I think it should be….It wouldnt be a problem if I had the resorces to just go buy one, but I guess I will have to resort to engenuity and back yard techniques that I have always turned to. Well thanks again for all of your help. I will let you know how it turns out :)
