49 posts in 707 days Location: Indianapolis, IN I started working with wood many years ago, and tries to educate myself on woodworking back in the 70's (and on) when resources were harder to find on woodworking. Currently, I have moved and am in the process of going though the tools. I would like to build a detached shop when finances allow. I am taking this time to modify and paint several of the items from the previous shop,,,2 workbenches, and storage cabinet. I am a member of Central Indiana Workworkers, which has monthly meetings with topics of interest to woodworkers and has a toy build program that has membership building several thousand wooden toys to be distributed to over 26 agencies in the Indianapolis area. I am currently enjoying the vast amount of information available to increase skills in woodworking..more magazines, and of course, the Internet with its blogs and websites and access to suppliers. -- Go create sawdust Latest Activity | view all »

I am currently rebuilding 2 workbenches. The Record vises have been stored and have rust on them. I have removed the rust and would like to lubricate them. What lubrication should I use? Also, if this lube works there, will it be a good lubrication for the gears on a tablesaw?
