Good stuff! I put my scraps and cutoffs into a large garbage can next to the saw. The idea was to throw out any scraps that overflowed the can, but mostly I just put them in burlap bags and hide them in the closet!

Its fun to have a story behind the wood. Taken from an old barn, a tree from the yard, a gift from a friend, etc.

Roger I did this all but the drawer fronts out of scraps. It consists of nine different woods. Cedar,sycamore,sapele,oak,pine,popular,bamboo,maple and zebra. I needed a tool box and this was the product.

Now my favorite use for those really crazy cutoffs – toss em in the grill for smoke;)

I am a bit of a clean nut. actually, my shop floor (part of it) has some new carpeting.. step over to my shop and have a peak….................. at….................. the….............the psychedelic shack, dats where it’s at.. LOL Oh yea superd. I’ve got all those cubbies in those wall cabinets that I plan on doin somethin like what you did with the different woods as faces. I think that would be physco—delic

Well, my current project is a smallish cutoff cart, but kinda on steroids…....so I can’t point fingers…..(-:

Remember totes, the ultimate shop gizmo from scraps and stuff….....

Of course, then there is the blast gate cleaner that Lew posted, and I immediately built one and it gets regular use, and I used it the week before this vacation.

Today, since I will not have a real sander till next visit, when I will make a well planned trip to Seattle for a pile of small power tools for La Conner, I had the excuse to buy a duplicate of my Bosch Multi-X, which works as a pretty darn good detail sander among other things, and with coarse sandpaper will do a lot of work. That is so I can get my bench top sheathed and edged properly…tomorrow, I hope.

Don’t let anyone give you crap about your clean/organized shop. You and I both know and appreciate the pleasures of working in a clean environment where you can lay your hands on all your toys without a search party. This doesn’t work for everyone but it does for me. I always do some midproject cleaning while waiting for glue to dry. Keep up the good work. I do think carpet is a bit over the line!
